Pontiac grand prix 89 2 door coupe exterior door handles

So i recieved my new door handles and installed them but
they still do not open my door .. Someone please tell me
what i could be doing wrong .. Im not to car savy and im
willing toask for help in this pleeeease

If you have more than one handle not working, I'm guessing you've got the linkage inside the door hooked up incorrectly or perhaps one of the linkage parts is not hooked up at all. I'm assuming you've double checked to make sure the doors are not in the locked position.
