1986 el camino 305ci posible low voltage on start

possible low voltage from distributor on start. need to put gas pedal on the
floor to start and then feather it till it warms up. then it will run ok. auto-electric
chock is being read. have rebuilt carb and new plugs.

I'd say you have a fuel problem. What is "chock is being read"? I know you are talking about the choke. When it is running and warmed up shut it off and look down the throat of the carb. and watch for smoke coming up from the butterflies. This would be an indication of it flooding.

Well if you don't know what I mean when I say " the chock is being read" apparently you don't work on that year el Camino. When I say the chock is being read means it's electronic and the dash light comes on
