Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Tuned the engine but have not done anything with the EFI system/injectors. The truck is spitting and missing ever so often (usually between 25 to 40mph. The engine is a 4.9 with and inline six....manual trans.....any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Try that speed in different gears ... if the engine begins to miss in a higher/lower range that should be a clue. Try starting out in second gear ... see what loading the engine does. I suspect if those injectors are 1987 they are ready for a good cleaning or a change. Geez ... I did not think fuel injection came out on Ford trucks until a few years later

I did a complete tuneup and all these items were replaced. Maybe I should just clean the injectors and see what it does...thanks!
