Whu wont my f250 start?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1989 F250 Lariat XLT with the 7.5 460 V8. I
drove it to the store yesterday, and upon trying to
leave it would not start. The ignition rod in the
steering column broke before I own the truck, so it
has a push button start, but you have to turn the
key to the on position in order for it to start the
truck. So when I turn the key to the on position,
with the door open it's dinging, but when i turn it to
the on position it loses the power and drains the
battery. So my question is what could be causing
this? I've replaced the battery, and the starter
solenoid, and the starter, so I don't know why it
would lose power when I turn it to the on position
before I even touch the start button can somebody
please help me?
