how to diagnose whats wrong with transmission

got stuck.......put it in 4low  still was stuck....while getting pulled out truck
stalled  i started back up put it in gear and nothing happened  its an automatic
...so i checked to see if fluid was ok and noticed that there was no fluid moving
when i took off coolant lines  is this the pump or what else.. fluid did not stink
bad

If this has the shift lever on the floor for the 4x4, and it got moved to neutral, the trany will not work. Just a thought, maybe the linkage got moved underneath when you got stuck.
