Starter??

Asked by Mackey0505 Apr 11, 2017 at 11:10 AM about the 1989 Ford F-250 STD Standard Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I replaced the ignition lock rod actuator and the
actual ignition to start the truck because it broke
and I got everything put back together and it won't
start. I turn the key over and it turns everything on
but won't start. There is no click or anything. I
thought it was a dead battery but I charged up both
of them and they still won't work. I even tried new
batteries. Can anyone tell me what the next thing I
need to do is. Thank you.

Power may not be going threw the solenoid on the fender, when turning the key to the start position, there should be power to the small wire to excite the solenoid for the power to run threw the main battery cables.
