Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 1989 Ford F150 needs a new engine and transmission. I found a 1978 Ford engine and transmission and was wondering if it would fit into the 1989. Anybody know?

The engine and transmission would probably fit. The main first concern is the length from the engine motor mounts to the end of the transmission. If different your drive shaft will either be to short or two long.
