88 ford 150 gas problem

gas coming out of front tank when switched to back

The check ball in the front fuel pump isn't doing its job. The rear pump is filling the front tank, Ford used to have a kit with 2 inline valves that would prevent such a problem. They went inline from the output side at the fuel pumps to keep either tank from filling up the other one.
