If you have fuel in the tank, engine cranks, then you have a restriction in the line, like a plugged up filter, or bad fuel relay or a bad pump. Remove ine end of filter and turn key on to check if pump is working

Change the fuel pump if not changed in the past 28 years. Even if that is not the problem, it should be done. Then get a fuel pressure gauge and check the pressure at the rail. They are about 20 bucks at an auto parts store. The correct pressure reading can be obtained from the net.
