Battery alternator

My battery gage is staying at the highest but it is
not charging my battery done away with the
fuseable links. Jus wondering is there is supposed
to be a wire from the alternator stright to the
battery it is realy getting to be a pain and need it
fixxed

You did away with the fusible links? In case of a short circuit that can be a real serious fire hazard. Have you had the battery tested? Have you had the alternator tested? Are your battery cable connections absolutely clean, free from corrosion and tight.

the links are there for a reason , you can put in high amp fuses if you want , yes a wire generally goes from the pos, alt to the batt. but auto electric is rarely that simple unless you are an engineer with a full understanding I would go by the book , or go buy the book .

it's a d.c. 12 volt system , about the simplest there is , if you have questions like that you need to step away and do some learning ,
