will a manual transmssion from 1988 f150 4x4 replace my automatic transmission 4x4 in my 1985 f150

I don't think so, at least not with a bunch of work. Does your 1985 F150 have a clutch pedal? You would need a clutch pedal and shifter at a minimum. This can be done but it's not "plug-n-play"
