Just like a Differential. Remove the plug and add until 1/4" to level full with the plug hole. Actual quantity - I don't know. Start with 4 quarts and return what you don't use. It depends on which manual trans you have: 3 speed w/ overdrive? 4 Speed w/granny? 5 speed? T19? 3 speeds are small and don't require a lot. 5 speeds are more modern transmissions and usually require ATF instead of Gear Oil. It all depends on which transmission you have.
