AC Compressor bolt...valve cover in the way...

Asked by Michael Feb 24, 2017 at 09:59 PM about the 1988 GMC Sierra 1500 K1500 Standard Cab LB 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I can remove all but one bolt from the AC compressor. The lowest bolt on the passenger side
feed into the rear of the compressor, but the valve cover is in the way when I try to pull it out.
Do I need to loosen the valve cover to get the compressor out or am I missing something?
Thank you!

You could do it that way, another way is to loosen up the whole AC compressor bracket from the engine.

Your welcome. If you remove the valve cover it is tight to get off because of the AC lines. May say a few words....
