Reduced gas mileage after accident

Asked by Mar 28, 2017 at 08:36 PM about the 2014 Honda Accord EX

Question type: General

I was rear ended on passenger side rear of my 2014 Honda Accord EX (4CYL) last fall with the exhaust system taking brunt of damage with a pinched brake line ($7.8K in total dollar damage). I've noticed since the car was repaired my gas mileage is lower since the accident. Anybody have any thoughts why this is happening?

look for a positive exhaust flow ,have someone give it gas while you hold a piece of cardboard over the exhaust . Take a visual , they may have not cared or screwed some thing up .Let us know what happens .

scan for codes even if the light ain't on .

Exhaust system was replaced from middle of car to back including muffler. Should I have them scan engine for codes? Also could this be something with the CVT since I was not moving but in drive when I was rear ended?
