What is the maximum cranking amps for a 1930 model A 6 volt battery?

I've seen 450 CA and on over 900.  Which is the best?  I don't want to burn up
my starter.

CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) is related to how many times you can turn it over before it runs down. It also relates to the need for more power in vehicles that are hopped up or related to cold weather. Neither will hurt the starter

It is up to you not the crank the engine so long that you burn up the starter. A bigger battery of the correct voltage will not burn up the starter with the higher amp rating.
