Magneto Ignition for 1927 Ford Model A

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a dead magneto distributor. I can't figure out
how to get it to build up a charge. So I can run the
car without the battery. The distributor  works fine
when I use a battery, but when I hit to switch over
to magneto and try to start it won't start.

You should ask this question on an antique car forum, one that deals with Model As and Ts, like H.A.M.B. (jalopyjournal.com/forum/).
