So whats the problem? your not suppose to remove the gas cap with the engine running, the fuel vapor control system uses vacuum to keep the vapor under control when you remove the cap you flood the fuel vapor system with fuel vapors and the computer doesn't know where the mixture is coming from so it shuts down the fuel supply. Keep doing this and you can ruin the vapor canister and vapor control valve if you haven't already started damage, time will tell.
