2014 air conditioner not blowing cold air
Help, I have a 2014 Chevy Impala LTZ. The air
conditioner went out last summer and I need to get
it repaired before this summer. I checked into a
few things..... it's not the frion, (tried the can). It
still blows, just not cold at all. The heater works
fine, i believe the compressor no longer "spins", i
located it and watched for it. I checked the fuses,
they are good. I believe the compressor is a
problem, but not sure if anything else. Would like to
try to eliminate possible problems. I talked to
someone in the service dept at Chevy dealer, they
said couldn't say until they look at it, but could be
worst case scenario $1500-$1800. I don't have
that... any suggestions?? My father suggested a
mechanic he knows that charges less, but I don't
know if he's familiar with newer cars. Is that
advisable? Any help would be appreciated...
the compressor won't spin if there's no charge in the system there's most likely a pressure switch ,the A/C needs a correct charge to work with the other components pumping in a can is not the right way . The price may be fair ,for a dealer , because your condenser , which probably has a hole in it ,or other parts - labor may be high
2014 chevy impala is only blowing hot air .was working fine .until my daughter drove over a pothole .then the compressor won't spin .check freon it's full . Help I drive my little granddaughter in the car

I just left the dealership. They told me it was a surge that messed up my ecm and compressor. $1900 to fix it. TRADE IN
