at a mile high i would definitely go with twin turbo's, when the engine is under load turbo's can build boost sooner than a supercharger. but i have a question about ur motor it's a 4.6L right? there are alot of supercharger kits for the 4.6L if it is i'd go with a pair of 62 mm's, if you got a stroker kit in it 68mm's. but don't go over 10psi without a water/methanol injection system for going over 10psi.

thats what i was thinking for being up this high, but there is only a few turbo kits for it and they are more expensive then the supercharger kit. my motor is a 281 4.6 with 4 valve heads, its pretty much a 01 cobra motor with diff cams and more compression.

ya one more thing what's the compression ratio? that determines alot about ur ignition timing at certain boost pressures. you can't have as much ignition advance with a motor running boost. with 9:1 compression you can run up to 15 psi as long as you have it flow through an intercooler. keep in mind that i am talking about running 91 or 93 octane pump gas. and make sure that your injectors are up to the job other wise you'll have to get new ones and do some tuning.

Your Mach has 10.1-1 comp ratiofrom the factory, very good naturally aspirated motor. You can run low boost <10psi via supercharger or turbos if you run an intercooler and have METH injection. Don't forget the suporting mods such as fuel, iginition, and chassis. I would preffere turbos!

I don't know what some of you guys were taught, but positive displacement superchargers always make boost at lower RPM's than turbos. That's the point. Look at a dyno sheet from kenne bell, then compare it to a turbo dyno sheet. Massive difference. If you want ridiculous, drag race, race gas power get turbos. If you want the best pump gas, stoplight to stoplight racer, with a superwide powerband, go with a positive disp supercharger.

Oh yea, if your car has the stock short block, don't go over more the 450-500 RWHP. They are not forged from the factory.

just to let you know, regardless of whether you turbo or supercharge your modular motored mach 1, they came with the shaker hood intake system, and if you aspirate the motor; the shaker becomes useless. Which was the whole point of the mach 1.
