RPM jump

Asked by schwinck Jul 30, 2015 at 05:55 PM about the 2003 Ford Mustang GT Premium Convertible RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Cleaned throttle body, replaced air filter, replaced IAC.  Reconnected battery, let car idle for 10 minutes.  Car is driving fine.  When I start the car, RPMs jump to 2000 and rest at 750 when in park.  Just wondering if this is normal.  Thank you.

Throttle position switch maybe bad and some can be adjusted. Google that question and the year , make and model of your vehicle and it will take you to a site that will let you know if you can adjust the throttle position switch on your vehicle
