84 chevy Caprice

When driving at high speed my car does change
gears smoothly. It's like I'm revving my engine it's
like I'm having a misfire but I'm not sure what could
it be

Replace the spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap and distributor rotor for a tune up. A new fuel filter and possibly a new air filter might be a good idea too. I'd also replace the PCV valve and the crankcase ventilation filter too. Hope that helps! Jim
