poor heat 2013 camry 4cyl
poor heat for 9 mos. had thermostat, antifreeze & cabin air filter replaced. not much difference. 27000 miles on car purchased new.
Assuming you are following the instructions located in the Owner's Manual.....see if you can hear any thumping noises when you turn the Heat/AC control knob from one extreme to the other......Max Heat...to...max Cold. This should operate the BLEND Door which decides whether you are requesting Heat...or...Cold...or...anything in between. Also...we have to assume you are turning the Blower Motor on High. Get back with results.
Had blower motor on high. Moved Heat/AC from one extreme to the other did not hear any thumping. The fan speed increased when the AC went on but that was it. It was 30 degrees hear today. When driving I set it to recirculate and got considerably more heat.
If indeed you are getting more heat on Recirc. ...suggest you check the Cabin Air Filter located behind the glove box. TrannyMan has an excellent idea on how to check the heater core for circulation/restiction. That's good advice. We will be waiting for these results.
Sorry that it takes me so long to respond. I am a 24/7 caregiver for my wife. I had the cabin air filter replaced with the new thermostat and antifreeze replacement. Did not get a chance to get the car to running temp to check the heater hose temps. Hopefully tomorrow. I really appreciate your willingness to help. Thank you.
Cielo....did you ever resolve the issue with this vehicle?
No, not resolved yet. I checked the heater hoses with car at operating temp. Upper was more than warm but not really hot. Lower was warm.
OK...my experience in doing a "touchy/feel test on those heater hoses is one hose should be hot...hot....to the point where you cannot leave your hand in place for more than a few seconds. The other hose is just hot/warm. This thermostat that was replaced.....was it of the correct Temp? 195 degree or higher?
Cielo...did you ever resolve the issue with this vehicle?
