I have a water leak through the hatchback onto the trunk area?

After a rai, I find the car;et inside the rear hatchback soaked on the left side.  I
cannot find any breaks in the rubber gasket?

The gasket might just be worn or coming from another place, like the sunroof drain. But before you replace it anything, get someone to spray a hose on the hatch while your in the car to see if in fact the hatch gasket is fine.

Will do. In the event its just worn weather stripping, I'll have to shell out 165 to get another.

With back hatch open look in the crease of the metal between where gasket sits and outer ridge of body. There is a drain hole in both sides. Some times these get stopped up. Also the tube for drains run down behind the plastics in your trunk area to under your car. Tube may have come loose or is leaking.
