Hi I have a 92 Dodge Dakota with the 3.9 L. I was wondering if you can fit a 4.7 in the older Dakotas?

Well with enough money and a cutting torch anythings possible, LOL. In all seriousness though the older Dakota's came with a 318(5.2 liter)V-8 option. So a 4.7 will fit. The problem will be all the electronic (ECM being the biggest one) differences between the old truck and new engine. Look around someone might have a kit to convert the new engine into the truck.

it would be WAY easier to put a 5.2(318) or 5.9(360) in.

TransAm77- lol I know that's true I'm a welder and fabricator by profession. I was just curious but figured that that it would be a pain with all the electronics in the fact that it's newer. If I do a swap it will be a 318 or 360 whatever's available at the time. Thanks all you guys
