1988 300E Mercedes. A/C fan stays on always.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1988 300E Mercedes.  The AC does not cool, perhaps I have a leak in the
Freon line.  My specific question is:  The fan is always on and the dashboard
panels will not stop it.  What is wrong?  Looked at the fuses and the ventilation
fuse is combined with other devices and services, which if I pull affects them.

Try the fan switch

You have an automatic system so the fan will run until you reach the desired temperature, which you won't without the cool input of the AC. Try running heat only at a much higher temperature. Don't pull a fuse, that might screw up other accessories; have the AC fixed.
