Why does my 86' Volvo 240 DL feels like the brakes are on while its running

My Volvo feels like brakes are applied while its running. Releasing the gas pedal, I feel the
car pull back or feels heavy holding back. What could be the problem here? Pls help,.

Have the brakes inspected by a brake shop. It is usually free. It is possible your rear brakes are grabbing and not releasing properly.
