Car cranks won't start

I have 1995 dodge stratus 2.4L. Was driving
car quit running. Engine still turns over but
won't start. While cranking it's like it tries to
back fire. Any ideals?

Possible fuel issue, should start by checking the fuel pressure, May be a bad fuel regulator or bad fuel pump, It back fires so I assume there is spark but you may want to look at it to make sure it has a nice white/blueish spark. Also look for vacuum leaks.
