Will my 84 bronco 2 tranny fit in a 92 ford ranger?

Asked by Tyler Jul 29, 2016 at 10:42 PM about the 1984 Ford Bronco II Eddie Bauer 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an 84 bronco 2 with a bad engine. It's a v6. 5
speed. 4x4.

AND I have a 92 2 wheel drive ranger with a 2.3
liter 4 cylinder.

Will the transmission from the Bronco 2 fit into the
Ranger?

No, cause the 4x4 has a different tail housing on the transmission to accommodate the transfer case. The 2 wheel drive does not have a transfer case.
