85 Nissan720 fuel pump ALWAYS cuts out

I Have a Nissan720 that has fuel delivery issues.
Changed carburetor from stock to webber. Fuel
pump will shut off for some reason can't figure it
out . Changed fuel pump several times already.
PLEASE HELP

Did the old carb have a fuel return line?

Some of the old pickups 80s had an electric solenoid for the fuel pump. The solenoids act up when hot. It is not an expensive fix if you can find an old mechanic that knows about this. I had one replaced and seems like it was under the dash near the glove box.

my '96 nissan pickup started running hot and I was not losing fliud. The fan comes on, the oil is not milky so I changed the thermostat. The first day I drove it and ran it for a total of 25 minutes. Temp was fine. Second day drove for 10 minutes and ran hot. Drained and flushed radiator ran hot again after 10 minutes. After it cooled, I did have some water loss. Could this be the water pump or could I have screwed the thermostat installation up? 14 Answers
