Question type: Maintenance & Repair

As I start to accelerate, my 4 runner will shake really bad. As I gain speed or just gun the gas, its stops.

Is your CV axle out of balance? Tires need balanced? Drive shaft out of balance?

well I took it in for a tune up to Toyota, they balanced everything put in new plugs, now this.

I don't know about them balancing a CV? they did balance the tires, etc. 600.00 later...

If it was not doing that before the tuneup I would say when they were installing spark plugs the gap on one of the plugs may have been closed or they did not check gap before installing.

Toyota told me they didn't know what it was. They said they even had engineers in there. BUT would replace the transmission. Costing 6600.00 for labor alone. A mechanic other than Toyota said he felt a miss in the engine and thinks I need transmission and torque converter. I just feel this isn't right in my gut.
