How can I get my trans cooler line to disconnect from the radiator. Tools are not working. What can I do

Asked by malmstrom Apr 29, 2015 at 02:40 AM about the 1997 Dodge Dakota SLT Club Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Trying to pull old radiator out and the trans cooler line disconnect wont come out. I have tried all the tools for quick connects but it wont come out. Can I cut the line just past the connect and put a new one on. Or do I need to replace the whole trans line?

I did mine several times without ever having a special tool, but it was a pain. 3 times when replacing radiators and once when replacing the lines themselves. sorry, but I don't remember the specifics.
