2013 Mini Cooper S has low throttle response on takeoff

Asked by MarkS999 Jun 08, 2015 at 01:31 PM about the 2013 MINI Cooper S Hatchback FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Mini Cooper S after ~30k miles has begun to have no throttle response when i release the clutch.  Once I get going it is fine, however that initial start is almost no power as if it's going to stall.  Any ideas what might be causing this?

I've been having the same problem. My mileage is the same as yours. Have you noticed any changes in the sound of your motor once you begin driving?

I have the same problem with my 07 s but if I press the sport button it takes off fine.its like the rpms are to low for the car to have the power to take off.its like the timing is not being advanced to take off from a stand still.I think the sport button advances the timing and that is way the sport button makes the engine have more power.I ts only a guess but try taking off with the sport button on.
