Can a Ford Expedition (2013) work with a third party remote start without deactivation of the anti theft system

Asked by heh Feb 10, 2014 at 04:20 PM about the 2013 Ford Expedition XLT 4WD

Question type: Car Customization

Have an opportunity to have a remote starter (not Ford factory type) put in a 2013 Expedition but will require using an anti theft system by pass. I am concerned the bypass will cause the anti theft system to become ineffective

Quiz your installer. Most of the time these are installed in a way so that they only disable the anti-theft while the command start is enabled. But with any of these it still makes it easier to steal. The thief would have to get to the new wiring inspect it and engage the bypass, but only if he knew it was there. If installed right you should be fine.
