Question type: Maintenance & Repair

i had to use a pair of vise grips to hold the battery cables on the battery. i hit a bump and i think that the grips touched the hood and shorted it out. when it first happened the dash lights were still going but i couldnt get it to start.the next day i went out and the guages wouldnt even light up and now there is no power at alli hooked a new brain up to it to see if it was that and it did nothing. i dont know what to do nenxt

i agree with tom, first start with the K.I.S.S. method, (keep it simple stupid). i would have started with the battery test first, should be around 540 cold cranking amps, then replace the battery cables, not very expensive either, check fuzes and so on. i doubt its anything serious but if it is then yes a trip to the shop or junkyard for parts is def in order
