why won't my front caliper bolt stay in?

Asked by jcaswell May 11, 2017 at 01:44 PM about the 1998 Dodge Durango SLT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving and my calipers started making a noise. I went to fix them and
the bolt will not stay in. I tried liquid weld for a temp fix, but it didn't work. Does
anyone on here know what part to replace or any other fixes?

If the bolt hole is damaged you need a new bracket or you might be able to have the hole helicoiled. .

Agree , they make oversized replacement ,it self taps but after that got to replace the unit that's where I'm at frustrating but the self tapping larger one works for quite a while but to do it properly you need to replace the caliper bracket itself
