can i clean my fuel pump?

My 98 Durango sat, in N. idaho for about a year, after a fender bender. it had
very little fuel in it. I can hear the fuel pump and it wants to start after letting it
sit for a few. if I dribble a little gas into the throttle body, it fires and runs for a
few seconds then quits. Is this a gelled gas issue or a pressure issue???

Sound like the fuel pump is shot. You can check the fuel pressure but if it is starting with gas dumped into the throttle body, good indication that the fuel pump is bad. With an electric fuel pump you do not want less than 1/4 tank fuel in the tank. If you had less than that, good chance the seals dried up so as to not be able to pump fuel.
