I have a 1998 durango, it starts but then dies, sometimes if you give it more gas it stays running but now it won't even stay running, it will rev up but then dies like you shut off the key..

Sounds like maybe a clogged fuel filter or bad fuel pressure regulator. Fuel filters are fairly inexpensive...I would try that first.
thank you DMS74, not one of Dodges great idea's the fuel filter is part of the fuel pump and inside the gas tank... soo looks like i be replacing the pump as well...
I am lucky...I have about always been a GM guy...but I do remember that issue from when I son owned a Dodge. Can't think of any way to make it easier for you...Good luck.
Could also be that the battery is starting to go bad, mine acted like that until I got a new one, have the battery load tested and check if the alternator is giving out over 14 volts like it should. Also try to ad a fuel injector cleaner to a full tank of gas.
