Really high idle

Replaced water pump and went to start truck and now it idles really high. What
is the cause?

With hi idle block off mouth of throttle body, it should kill the engine. If very little or no effect, you got false air getting in there from somewhere? Make sure throttle valve is closed.

did what you suggested and there was no change at all. checked throttle valve and it closes. did discover a thick plastic hollow tube coming from canister under truck that melted on muffler. its about a 1/2 " hose and i have no idea where it goes

check loose intake manifold bolts. press on intake manifold and if it lowers idle you have loose bolt and pcm is trying to comensate air or something
