2013 Durango turns off while driving/wont start
My truck has 43000 miles on it, 2nd owner & it is well maintained, etc. Every
once in awhile it turns off while driving. If you give it gas it comes back on or
sometimes you have to pull over. Very scary when merging into traffic. Also
twice now it wont start & wont give the key fob back. You cant pull it out of
the ignition slot. Like right now. Used it about an hour ago. Went to head out
again & she wont start/wont gibe the key back. The last time this happened I
had it towed to the dealer, who couldn't find any diagnostic codes AND the
damn thing started right up for them & never turned off while driving. HELP!!!
Is my truck possessed? After talking to FCA they have informed me that the
only open recall on my truck is the brake booster, which I knew about. They
have referred me back to the dealer......
Any engine related defects I can think of would cause some warning lights and could be diagnosed. I think your problem is a faulty ignition switch. In effect, you hit a bump or the vehicle jerks, and the electrical contact in the switch opens and cuts off the engine. You then play with the switch and it restarts.
