is the door lock system separate from the immobaliser. My car wont start but the door lock works What to do

Can' neutralize the immobaliser but the door lock system works. Car won't start unless
the scanner is attached. How do I correct the problem.

does the engine turn or is it completely dead ? Could also be the chip in the ignition key, if you have a spare key you try if that one works and if so you can reprogram the one that dont work if you the owners manual.
