What engine can I replace my 2013 ford focus SE with?

I am looking to upgrade my 2013 ford focus SE standard transmission. I am not looking to spend 10,000$ for the highest performance engine out there just one that adds some kick to my vehicle.

With the engine you have you can do a few things to and make it perform better. Start with Cold Air Induction. Larger exhaust system. A performance chip. $500.00 should give you 25 - 40 more HP.
