Town and country shutting down while driving

Asked by Martin Jan 15, 2020 at 09:55 AM about the 2013 Chrysler Town & Country Touring FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Can the issue with the town and country  shutting
off while driving be a worn out ignition  switch?  If I
hit a bump or bump the key is when it happens the
most.

This is a known issue. First it is recommended that the key fob be stand alone. In other words don't have it on a ring with other heavy items since they pull down and bounce and bump putting wear and tear on the ignition switch. If the damage is already done you will have to replace the ignition switch. Folks are fighting for a recall on this but don't think it has happened yet.

Hello, Martin. Try changing the positive battery clamp. That fixed the same issue for me.
