2000 Dodge Stratus brakes work intermittently

Brakes work, and then sometimes the pedal goes to the floor and I have no
brakes.

seals in the master cylinder went kaput~ have a shop change it~

Thank you very much for your time and expertise. Have an appointment with mechanic today, but didn't want to go in blind.

when I as so poor, used to get only the seals and rebuild the unit myself...like 7 dollars vs about 60....got a stomach for dirty stuff?, and a workbench, you could replace only the seals...bit of a mechanical puzzle tho~
