I have a 2000 Durango and having problems starting and staying running.

My 2000 Durango will not start without jumping and Has a problem staying
running.  Just had transmission rebuilt.  Now having problems starting and the
A/C doesn't blow cold anymore.

May want to get the battery checked, if it has a shorted cell in it, the engine does not like to run.

Already change the battery out


You may want to check the fuel pressure, possible bad fuel pump, fuel regulator, or leaky injectors. Do a bleed down test. Build up fuel pressure, turn the key off, see if the fuel gauge drops. Take note of the fuel pressure.

Thanks, but I believe it's got something to do with the electrical. It will jump off just fine and start. It dies when you take your foot off the accelerator. Had a new battery put in, but I believe it is the cables. It was running and starting good this past weekend.


Always curious, let me know what you find.

I had the same problem about 1 month ago and I had to replace the ECU and now it fires up fine.
