Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2000 Dodge Durango is smoking and overheating. Added water to coolant

As Tennisshoes said that is definitely your problem the other option for the rattling could be a lack of oil has destroyed the bearings or the oil has become so thin from the antifreeze/water that it no longer can provide a buffer between the rotating metal surfaces in the engine and has caused major damage.
