What happened to my z car?

Asked by Adam May 22, 2016 at 04:33 PM about the 1985 Nissan 300ZX 2 Dr 2+2

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I was driving in the highway in my 85 non turbo
300zx and all the sudden white smoke blew from
under the hood and coolant was spraying out from
under my motor. Had to tow it home and can't
seem to see what would have broke. Wasn't over
heating or anything. Any suggestions on what
happened?

Thanks man. Hadn't even thought of that. I was thinking water pump or head gasket

The car just down shifted itself and then revved up high for a second before it all happened

It happen to my Nissan 300zx is it normal the downshifting gear ? my hoses broke as well I tough it was the transmission as well ......
