Asked by Mar 12, 2017 at 04:11 PM about the 1973 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I tow my 1973 Monte Carlo on tow dolly and when
unloading it I now don't have reverse, when it
worked just fine before towing. All forward gears
work fine.

Explain the tow dolly. So the front wheels we're off the ground, but not the rear wheels? How far did you tow the car? If it was towed with the rear wheels on the ground, that means the driveshaft was spinning, heating up the transmission, so I suspect you might have some internal damage to the trans from the excessive heat that was built up in the casing.
