can a 1500 series suburban tow a two horse trailer with two horses in it.

In the 1500 class, a two-wheel-drive Extended Cab standard bed with a 6.2-liter V-8, 3.73:1 axle ratio and the Max Trailering package - According to the 2013 order guide, the rating will be 10,500 pounds. A four-wheel-wheel-drive regular cab with a standard bed, 5.3-liter V-8, 3.42:1 axle and HD trailering package dropped to 8,600 pounds in the 2013.
You should be able to pull the trailer with horses, a 2500 would do it more comfortably

Realize you are adding on 1200 - 1500 pounds for the trailer PLUS (depending on the size of each horse) another 1500 to 1800 pound for each horse for a total of approx. 5000 pounds of "rocking" load. You could do it with the 1500, but you should add a transmission cooler, frame tow hitch (NOT BUMPER PULL) and electric brakes for the trailer. Are you looking to buy a vehicle or are you looking to buy a horse and go to shows (as we do) ?
Every one that I've ever talked to has said the same thing you don't want to pull anything with a ball attached to the bumper, it's just gonna mess up your bumper.

To start with Bradley is correct "bumper hitches" do ruin the bumper of the tow vehicle due to inevitable human error in hitching and unhitching any trailer along with pulling improper loads which bend the bumper. For LITE loads they are okay (ride on lawn mower, go kart, garbage, tree brush, picnic supplies, etc.), BUT if you are towing something YOU IN ANY WAY CARE FOR have installed or buy a vehicle with a "hitch attached directly to the frame". It will save the bumper and you have many more options for hitches including load stabilizing types to control sway. If you want to really step up and pull substantial loads and not buy a trailer truck, then you can have a 5th wheel hitch installed in your flatbed or pickup truck. Yes you can, but your transmission is the one that may suffer a little bit, just be very careful and don't take off too fast just very slowly.
