1989 mercury grand marquis ls cranks but no start

order of spark, new battery, coil, starter, alternator.  no spark from coil

there is a sensor in the distributor? (in the old days it would have been points). Not sure about the 89, later models were controlled by the computer. You need to know if you have a pulse to energize your coil. Their are answers on google how to check this out' Its possible it could be your sensor on your distributor ?
