2013 subaru outback stalling

Asked by GuruL9WB5 Mar 19, 2019 at 02:52 PM about the 2013 Subaru Outback 2.5i Premium

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2013 subaru outback. Ever since I bought this vehicle in 2017 with
about 58,xxx miles on it I have had nothing but issues. A month after buying
it I had catalytic converters replaced by warranty. Then my engine was using
too much oil, so that was replaced by the extended warranty. Now...for the
last 6 months it has been stalling after placing in reverse and having
hesitation with acceleration. I even tried backing into a spot to see if it will do
the same when I place it in drive and it did. I have video of the stalls in
reverse and in drive. I have taken it to 3 different dealerships and they can't
replicate the problem and the vehicle is not showing any stored codes. SOA
telling me get a 2nd opinion or we can offer you $1000 towards a brand new
subaru.  I am beyond frustrated and don't know what else to do. Help,
please.

F_O_R and Markw1952, thank you for the helpful links. I have seen these in the past. I am just out of ideas as to how to get a diagnosis and get this issue corrected. They will simply not diagnose it based on the symptoms, they say the car is not storing codes when it stalls so therefore they can't diagnose anything wrong with it. I am at a loss as to what else can be done to get a diagnosis so that it can be repaired.
